EXTERIOR TREATMENT

The tumbling treatment, completed in our factory, is an external treatment to remove potential shavings created by fusions. It is made by granular inserts of various forms, dimensions and compositions located together with the products that need to be wrought in specific machines called Buratti. Thanks to the combined action of rotation and friction, the granular inserts remove the shavings leveling out the surface. This treatment is appropriate to give to a big amount of products a special finishing touch.

The anodization (also called anodic oxidation) is a non-spontaneous electrochemical process used to create a protective layer of aluminium oxide on the external part of the product to protect it from corrosion. The oxide layer can vary and expressed in micron:

- 5 micro: indoor without frequent handling
- 10 micro: indoor
- 15 micro: outdoor

- 20 micro: outdoor in urban areas or navy (strengthen layer)

The powder coating is a process used to cover metal surfaces with an organic film. It can have a decorative purpose or it can be used to protect the product from corrosion. The products are covered by the powder (made with synthetic resin) that adheres thanks to the electrostatic effect. They will later be put in a furnace where the coating will melt, due to the high temperature, and then polymerize creating a snug layer which thickness is expressed in micron.

The galvanization is a process in which a zinc covering is attached to a metal object (generally made of steel) to protect it from galvanic corrosion: it restricts the formation of electrolytic micro-cells. The galvanization process can be done with the following methods:

- hot galvanization
- continuum hot galvanization
- electrolityc galvanization
- cold galvanization
- spurt galvanization
